GlinkBot brings agent conversations into a desktop workspace, with an Android companion for a paired connection. Desktop 0.0.2 previews for Linux, macOS, and Windows are available on our download page.

Set up your desktop

Install the official package for your system, then open GlinkBot Settings. Configure a supported agent engine using the sign-in method or API credentials it supports. Third-party accounts, subscriptions, and usage limits are separate from GlinkBot.

No GlinkBot account required

The account-free build offers an optional local display name. It does not collect an onboarding email, send sign-in codes, or enable PostHog usage analytics. AI-provider sign-in is separate and goes to the provider you choose.

Create your first bot

Give your bot a name, choose its model, and describe the job you want it to do. Start with a small, specific request. Review its result before connecting more tools or adding permissions.

Keep work organized

Use separate threads for different tasks. Agent profiles hold identity, instructions, skills, memory, routines, and other settings. The options you see depend on the installed build and provider.

Connect Android

Keep the desktop or server running. Enable the phone companion from the desktop pairing controls, then use the pairing details in the Android app. No GlinkBot account or email is needed for pairing. Both devices need a reachable connection: use your local network, your own VPN, or a secured HTTPS endpoint you control. GlinkBot does not provide an account-managed remote tunnel in this build. A desktop’s localhost address is not reachable as the same address from your phone.

Keep pairing codes private. Do not expose the local workspace directly to the public internet without an appropriately secured remote-access setup.

Understand permissions

Enable only the tools and computer access a task needs. Review approval prompts carefully. AI output can be incomplete or incorrect, so check important results before acting on them.

Know where your data goes

The desktop workspace uses ~/.glinkbot. Using a cloud AI provider or connected service sends it the requests and context needed for that work. Local-first does not mean every task runs offline.

Support and feedback

Email support@glinkbot.com. Include your GlinkBot version and a short description of the problem. Do not send API keys, pairing codes, or private conversations. Your email app opens; nothing is sent automatically.

Install and update on Linux

The current preview is an unsigned .deb for 64-bit x86 Ubuntu / Debian systems. Download the package and read its SHA-256 checksum in the release manifest from our download page. Compare the output of sha256sum GlinkBot-0.0.2-amd64.deb with the published checksum, then install from the download directory using sudo apt-get install ./GlinkBot-0.0.2-amd64.deb. Administrator approval is required.

In the desktop app, open the bottom-left profile menu and choose Check for updates. If a newer version is available, choose Download. The current Linux DEB uses an Install and restart confirmation followed by your system’s administrator authorization when required. Cancel leaves the update uninstalled. GlinkBot verifies the downloaded package, asks the system package manager to install it, and restarts only after success. No copied terminal command is required for in-app updates. Finish running tasks and back up your workspace first. The current published version is 0.0.2. Check for updates will offer a download only when a newer release is published.

Update-enabled builds check downloads.glinkbot.com shortly after launch and hourly, as well as when you check manually. These requests send normal network information to Cloudflare, not your conversations or AI credentials. No GlinkBot account is required. Earlier builds with the terminal-based update flow need manual replacement. Already installed versions are not automatically downgraded, and same-version replacements are not offered as updates. A checksum checks integrity; it is not a publisher code signature.

Other releases

macOS DMG/ZIP previews are available for Intel and Apple Silicon; they are ad-hoc signed, not Apple Developer ID signed or notarized. Windows EXE/ZIP previews are available for x64 and Windows 11 ARM64; they are unsigned and may show SmartScreen warnings. Linux x64 AppImage is also available. These packages require manual updates; automatic updates are enabled only for Linux DEB. Get the Android companion from Google Play through our download page. There is no iOS release offered by GlinkBot.
